Dear Parents and Carers,
Urgent update following the Government’s announcement on 4/1/2021
By now I am sure you will be aware that the Government has made a decision to close all schools, to the majority of pupils, until February half term. Schools received this information alongside everyone else in tonight’s 8pm Government briefing.
As a result, tomorrow, TUESDAY 5th JANUARY, the school will be CLOSED TO ALL PUPILS. This closure is necessary to provide the school with one day to make the necessary emergency arrangements to welcome vulnerable children and those of front-line critical workers, back to school on Wednesday 6 January 2021.
However, if you are a front-line critical worker, on shift during the school day on Tuesday 5 January 2021 and are unable to make alternative childcare arrangements, or you are unable to keep your child safe at home, please contact the school by email urgently and no later than 9am in the morning. Please be aware that this childcare will be provided by staff only where parents can demonstrate that there is an absolutely critical need of childcare.
In order to update our front-line critical workers list, we will be sending out a survey tomorrow to all parents. In the meantime, please can we ask that you only contact the school office if it is absolutely necessary.
As always, we will continue to update you as more information becomes available, including details on our Teams home learning provision.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding, please stay safe.
Mr Nick Burstow
