Dear Parent and Carers,
I am writing to inform you that the final meetings and steps to open a school based nursery have concluded this week. I can now confirm that plans to open a school based nursery at South Brent Primary School will definitely be going ahead. This means that from September 2026, our age range will expand to welcome children from nine months up to eleven years old.
To prepare for this new provision, we will soon begin making adaptations and improvements to the Den building, where the nursery will be based. Over the next few weeks, you may notice contractors and builders on site and using our car park. Please do remind children to take extra care during this period.
We are currently reviewing the staffing needed for the nursery and will begin recruitment after the Easter break. In order to shape our final plans for September, it is important for us to understand the childcare needs of our community. We have therefore created an online form to collect this information: Registration of interest – South Brent School Nursery online form. (deadline: 9am, Friday 3rd April 2026)
If you require a nursery place from September 2026 for a child aged between 9 months and school age, please complete the form. Please note that this is an initial registration of interest. Once the nursery structure and staffing are confirmed, we will invite families to submit formal applications. All applications will be processed in line with our upcoming Nursery Admissions Policy, which we will share with you soon.
