After finishing runners up at the Totnes Learning Community netball competition last week, the year 5/6 Netball squad qualified to go to Stover school on Tuesday to compete in the area finals. After winning two, drawing one and losing one in the group stages, the team earned themselves a place in the partnership semi-final. Although the team lost to Bradley Barton in their semi-final, they knew that a win against Decoy would secure South Brent 3rd place overall. They started strong and took the lead, however the game finished 1:1 after extra time. Following a lengthy ‘shoot out’, including sudden death, the two teams could not be split resulting in both teams being awarded joint third place. This is a fantastic achievement considering the 66 schools involved in the sports partnership. You should all be very proud of your bronze medals – We are. Thank you to everyone who supported this event, thanks to Donna and Rob who run the school’s breakfast netball club, brilliant.
