Welcome to the Years 3 and 4 unit.  

Staffing and class organisation

The unit is made of of two classes and their teachers are Mr Turner and Mrs. Bourne.  Other staff who support the children in their learning are: Mr Smith and Mrs Cahill.

The two classes work very closely alongside each other, with the children sometimes being taught in their class groups and at other times in their year groups.  We have found this approach to be hugely beneficial for the younger children in their transition to Key Stage 2.  The Year 3s are mentored and supported by the Year 4s and then enjoy fulfilling the same responsibilities when it is their turn.

In Years 3 and 4 we are always keen to make the most of our local environment where it can support the children's learning and to make the most of opportunities in the wider local area to enhance their experiences. 

We aim to guide the children to grow into confident and independent learners who enjoy the rewards of hard work and make the most of all the opportunities on offer to them.
